Eligibility Criteria

Graduation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications (BCA), B.Sc. (IT / Computer Science), or B.Tech / B.E. (CS / IT / ECE) from a UGC-recognised university.

Minimum Marks: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation. For SC/ST/OBC candidates: 45% as per government norms.

Mathematics: Candidates must have studied Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or at the graduation level. (Relaxation applicable as per university norms.)

Entrance Exam: Valid score in the College's own Computer Applications Aptitude Test (CAAT) or state-level MCA entrance exam.

Final Year Students: Students appearing in their final year examination may also apply, subject to fulfilling eligibility at the time of admission confirmation.

Selection Process: Written aptitude test followed by shortlisting on merit basis (technical reasoning + mathematics).

Is Mathematics compulsory for MCA admission?
Yes, candidates must have studied Mathematics as a subject either at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level. BCA graduates who had Mathematics as a subject in graduation are eligible. Relaxations are applicable as per AKU University norms. Students without Mathematics may be admitted provisionally, subject to clearing a bridge course in the first semester.
Which graduation streams are eligible for MCA admission?
MCA admission is open to graduates in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science / IT / Mathematics / Electronics), B.Tech / B.E. (CS / IT / ECE / EEE), and any other stream with Mathematics and Computer Science as subjects. Candidates with a graduation in pure science streams with Computer Science and Mathematics are also eligible.
What is the total fee for the MCA programme?
The total 2-year MCA programme fee is ₹1,03,000 (₹51,000 in Year 1 + ₹52,000 in Year 2), payable semester-wise. Hostel accommodation is available separately at ₹40,000/year. Merit scholarships up to 50% fee waiver are available for outstanding candidates. No hidden charges — the fee is all-inclusive of lab, library and examination.
Can I change my specialisation after joining?
Specialisation is chosen at the time of admission and confirmed at the start of Semester III. A change of specialisation may be permitted in exceptional cases, subject to seat availability and approval from the HOD and Principal, before the start of Semester III classes.
What is the internship arrangement in MCA?
An 8-week mandatory Summer Internship is an integral part of the MCA curriculum, conducted between Year 1 and Year 2 (typically June–July). The Placement Cell facilitates internships at 60+ partner IT companies. Students work on live software projects and are evaluated on a detailed internship report and technical presentation, carrying 6 credits.
What is the average and highest salary package for MCA graduates?
For the 2023–24 batch, the average package was ₹7 LPA and the highest package was ₹14 LPA (Data Science / AI specialisation, placed at Infosys and IBM). AI/ML and Cloud specialisations have the highest average (₹8 LPA) followed by Cybersecurity (₹7 LPA), and Software Engineering (₹6 LPA).
Is hostel facility available for MCA students?
Yes, separate hostel facilities are available for male and female MCA students on campus. The hostel fee is ₹40,000 per year inclusive of room, mess (3 meals/day) and basic amenities. The hostel has 24/7 security, Wi-Fi, laundry and recreation facilities. Applications must be submitted before admission confirmation.
Can I pursue MCA via distance or online mode?
Our MCA programme is offered only in Full-Time mode (Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM). We do not offer part-time, correspondence or online MCA at present. The full-time format ensures maximum industry interaction, hands-on lab sessions, placement opportunities and a complete campus experience essential for a technical degree.
